Six Senses Bhutan

Six Senses Gangtey

Traditional birdwatching bridge

The Phobjikha Valley is a designated conservation area and winter home of the endangered black-necked crane. The visitor center is just below our lodge, which we call our Birdwatching Bridge, due to its very special design and prime viewing spot for these “birds of heaven”.

The eight suites and one two-bedroom villa, built using sustainable local stone and hemlock wood, and with double-height windows to bring the outdoors in, point to days spent hiking the trails among the grazing oxen, yaks, and horses on the mountainside or cycling along the peaceful valley floor among friendly waves and smiles. The cozy and intimate Living Room, with its twin-exhaust bukhari – is a perfect place for lounging over a post-hike tipple from the mix-your-own martini bar.

Six Senses Spa Gangtey upholds the happiness practice of Psychological Well-being, so open your eyes to the world as we did when we were children, with wonder and awe.

A yak feeds on a green plain with forested mountains and a few scattered houses in the distance beneath a cloudy sky. A wooden house sits among pine trees with mountains in the background. The scene is set under a partly cloudy sky, accessed by a simple road.
